Now I want yall to listen to the voice message some of my friends leave on my voice mail…..
A few light years ago in Spokane, Washington, a pregnant Alyce Brown felt slight pains. After trying to contact her husband, Joel Brown, a retired vet, who worked as a construction worker, she drove herself to the hospital.
Though she was many miles away from home and family in Louisiana, she was at ease and not scared. She pulled up to the emergency room, walked in, they wheeled her in a room and told her she was about to have her baby girl. Then they wheeled her into another big room full of student doctors looking down on her as she was in labor. The whole time she remained calm and at ease, reading things on the walls and machines. With hardly any pain or complications at 7:33am, January 11th God said “Let There Be Light” and I, Kala Monique Brown, greeted the world.
My mom wanted to hear me cry and make sure I was OK, so the doctor slapped me on the butt and so I did. I have to hear this story every year for my birthday and I wanted to share with you. Hope you enjoyed it. I can still get through life’s problems and situations just as easy as I came from my mothers womb. Though life around me is hard and sometimes complicated, it still keeps going. God always make sure I take the easy route because the battle is already fought and won.

When truth is watered down, we often lose the true meaning, and we are manipulated into putting our time and our resources into something we believe to be true.
The Indians taught the pilgrams how to plant corn and they lived in Indian-style wigwams. They built a European-style church made out of squared logs, and they wanted to show their appreciation so they invited the Indians to a feast. Indians were no stranger to feasting, as they held six thanksgiving festivals throughout the year. They were invited but it was too many of them so the pilgrims didn’t have enough food to feed them all so the Indians brought their own.
As new pilgrims came onto the scene, the spirit of thankfulness began to wane as the Pilgrims were becoming more self-sufficient. The Pilgrims began looking down on their new-found Indian brothers because they were not Christian, and they began to tell the Indians that their religious customs were wrong. The Pilgrims came to the new world to escape religious intolerance, but they began to show the same kind of intolerance towards the Indian religion , that they had themselves escaped from.
When the Puritans came to the New Land they considered that the land was free for the taking because their were no fences. The Puritans along with British settlers seized land, captured Indians for slavery and killed the rest.
The Pequot Indians fought a good fight in defense of their country, their homes, wives and children, but it to no avail. This war is considered one of the bloodiest wars in the history of the Indian wars. In 1637 over 700 men, women and children of the Pequot Tribe were gathered for their annual Green Corn Festival (the Indians 6th Thanksgiving, and our annual Thanksgiving).

"TODAY’S THOUGHTS: The things that we want the most in life are the things that destroy us the quickest…."

Consider this: Rejection is just a concept. There is really no such thing as rejection! You’re not any worse off by hearing no than you were before you asked. You didn’t have what you asked for before you asked and you still don’t, so what did you lose?
Being rejected doesn’t hold you back from anything. Only YOU hold yourself back.
